Settlers’ Park (24401 West Lockport Street) is located in downtown Plainfield and occupies over 20 acres of land. This beautiful community park offers a playground, walking trails, lake, open grassy areas, a History Walk, and the Richard A. Rock Amphitheater. During the warmer times of year, it is home to a great concert series as well as movies in the park. Residents can enjoy the natural beauty of the area at Lake Renwick Heron Rookery Nature Preserve (230 West Renwick Road). This beautiful natural spot sits on the former site of Powell’s Mill. It is the perfect spot to marvel at nature’s beauty, particularly during May through August when the lake becomes the breeding spot for five different species of birds.
