Plainfield residents will experience some delays on local roads starting Monday, according to the Village of Plainfield. Renwick Road will be closed from April 24 to 30 between Route 59 and River Road due to a Nicor project. Also starting Monday, overnight work on Route 30 resurfacing will begin.

The village had this to say about the Renwick Road work:

The Village was notified by Nicor’s contractor that a road closure is required from April 24-30 on Renwick Road (between Route 59 and River Road) to facilitate installation of the new gas main in the area. The posted detour route will utilize Route 59, Caton Farm Road, and Drauden Road. Local traffic will be allowed between Weathervane Way and Route 59 and also between River Road and Renwick Park Drive during the closure.

As for the Route 30 project, it will impact a section of the road from 143rd Street to Ogden Avenue:

Overnight work on Route 30 is expected to begin the week of April 24th. The first phase of the overnight work will consist of grinding off the existing asphalt surface in preparation for future paving work. All work for this project will be completed with flaggers directing motorists around the work area. Please be aware of workers near the roadway and potential delays while the work is being completed.
