Join the Plainfield Park District from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 3, at Plainfield Central High School (24120 Fort Beggs Drive off of Route 59) for the annual Patriotic Picnic and Fireworks! Celebrate with games, activities, fireworks, food and fun.

The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with the raising of the flag. Children will then be able to begin decorating their bikes, wagons and scooters in red, white, and blue for the bike parade at 6:30 p.m. All children are welcome to participate. A limited supply of decorations will be available.

The Plainfield Park District Dance Team will perform at 7 p.m. and the Plainfield American Legion will conduct a Retiring of the Colors at 8:30 p.m. Guests can also join the park district in writing positive greetings to deployed soldiers throughout the evening.

Children get unlimited turns on inflatables with the purchase of a $5 wristband. Face painting, Touch-a-Truck, and games will also be available along with cool treats from Kona Ice.
