A community Open House is being held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport Street, and will be hosted by the Village of Plainfield, to present information and get feedback. Topics will be on development concepts for the village-owned property east of Van Dyke and Wood Farm roads and south of 143rd Street.
Plainfield and PACE will begin construction this fall on a Park ‘n’ Ride facility on a portion of the property. A public-private partnership approach to develop the remaining property is being considered by the Village of Plainfield, with a variety of office and light-industrial development alternatives. Village Staff will be in attendance at the Open House and present information on the PACE project, provide an overview of the potential range of office and light-industrial development opportunities. They will also be explaining the benefits of the public-private partnership approach.
Residents and businesses alike are encouraged to attend and learn more about the Park ‘n’ Ride and additional development opportunities. Parties that may want to participate in the public-private partnership as well as businesses that are interested in locating in the proposed development are also all encouraged to attend.
